Obviously everybody’s life is different. Something that everyone’s life has in common though is that there are times in all of our lives when life can feel hard and maybe a bit unfair. God’s ways are different than ours and we may not always understand why he’s allowing something to happen or what the whole point of everything is. That’s no reason to give up on faith though. In fact, it should be quite the opposite. Even if you don’t understand what God is doing through the hard moments of your life, focusing on God during the hard moments of your life can make things so much easier to accept even though you may still not like the things that you are going through. I can definitely testify to that.
I’m wanting to bring that up as the start of this Substack because there are a lot of moments in my life when I have felt like life was hard and maybe a bit unfair and I feel like this’ll give you an idea of what my life has been like before going into more detail. You could sort of think of it as getting to know my life a little bit better before going into depth of the moments of my life that have been hard but God has shown himself to me in a wonderful way.
Some of the stories that I’ll be mentioning will be about the medical side of my life such as having epilepsy or being misdiagnosed with kidney disease. Some of the stories won’t be but may not be totally relatable, such as almost going to jail or being kicked out of a missions trip to Peru. Then there will be stories that people are much more likely to relate to, such as issues at school. There have been many wonderful times in my life, these are just examples of moments that have felt hard in some way.
If you ever feel like there are moments in life when you’re not getting much out of the things that God is doing or allowing in your life, you’re not alone. Everybody gets that feeling sometimes. Just keep in mind that God is always able to help us see the good in things and will be with us no matter what. Focus on who God is and the fact that he has no desire for us to live unpleasant lives. Try to see the good side of God so that you will feel a much better sense of comfort and freedom from the trials that may be weighing you down. God will always be faithful. He’ll take care of our circumstances. I get that those can be easier to say than to do sometimes, so I hope that the examples I bring up in my life will help those suggestions become easier to follow.
I hope that you enjoy this Substack. Feel free to let me know if you ever have tips, complaints, or questions. If you have a story of your own that you’d like to share, feel free to email me the story at joyamidsttrialssubstack@gmail.com what you’d like me to write. I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m the only person who is able to see things this way. Thanks for reading.
I love that you arepraising in the storm so to speak
