Before I hop into the testimony designing tips that I said I would give out, I just can’t help but bring this case scenario up. This incident was followed by a blessing that I am very grateful for. Something happened last Tuesday that I just love the thought of sharing.
Currently, I am helping set up everything for the Lights of Christmas in December. A big part of that job is getting up on ladders. I don’t have a problem with getting on ladders. I love getting up on ladders. The problem I had was with getting down the ladder.
It all happened so quickly. I don’t remember if I slipped when trying to climb down or if I accidentally skipped a step. Either way, I unfortunately fell from the top of an 8 foot ladder. Unsurprisingly, everyone around me was a bit freaked out. I was clearly in pain. I was also having a hard time getting up. Just in general, falling off of a ladder is a very dangerous thing to come across.
Here’s the thing I’m grateful for though. I was injured to a much smaller extent than expected. I got a couple bruises on my legs and one on my head, a swollen ankle, and my legs hurt (primarily the right leg). The next day, my neck and back were slightly hurting instead of my legs. Other than that, I was basically unharmed. I didn’t have any internal damage or anything. I wasn’t even bleeding. Considering how damaging people would’ve expected a fall like that to turn out like, there was definitely talk about how much God had protected me during that fall. I was thinking that from the very beginning. I was crying with thankfulness that night and the middle of the next day. What could’ve happened could’ve been 100x worse.
Something that came into my mind later was that some people might believe that God only saves us spiritually. This was only one case scenario where he saved me physically. If you think about what’s gone in your life though, I hope you’ll be able to recognize moments when God saved you from getting harmed more than you actually were. It could also be something such as deciding one day to take a different route to work just to find out later that a huge car accident could’ve happened if you went your normal route that day. Whatever you’re going through in life, keep in mind that God can save us in more ways than just spiritually. For example, He’s able to save us physically.
