Something about me having seen God throughout the hard times in life is that it is not based off of pure optimism. In all honesty, it can be easy sometimes to feel like life is a bit unfair. I’d imagine everyone reading this has experienced that feeling before (likely everyone just in general). Seeing God in your life is a choice. If you ever want to see God in your life but just can’t seem to find how, there are many things you can try and do to help with that. I’ve found that one of the most powerful ways is through prayer.
Some examples in my life have been seeing God answer a prayer. One example was when I was being tested for brain surgery. The thought of it was totally freaking me out. I couldn’t stop begging God to make me unqualified for it. Eventually, I decided to stop begging God to do it my way. I later decided to pray to God that He would do whatever was going to be the best for me… whatever that path may be. What do you know? Even though I was only halfway through testing, I was instantly told that it was confirmed that I did not qualify for it. That’s when I started to realize that God had put me in a situation where He helped me learn how to let Him take control of my life.
Sometimes prayer can simply lead to God helping you see how He’s a part of your life. Something you should keep in mind though is how much you actually desire to see God in your life. If God answers your prayer by helping you to think about it in the right way, you likely won’t realize that He’s helping you unless you desire and are willing to see Him.
Praise the Lord that He gives us a way to talk to Him. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about God. God doesn’t just want to have more power than us or anything. God wants to be a part of your life. God wants to have a relationship with you. God desires to help you life a wonderful and worthwhile life… even if things don’t always seem to go your way.
Amen. I love how praying draws us in closer to Him. Humbles us and makes us vulnerable and accessible. It is a reciprocal moment in time for me. Giving myself and receiving from Him in the process and not just answering the prayers but by dwelling with me in the midst of my praying- relationship.
Prayer has been such an evolving journey for me. I think that makes sense as it’s a way we can connect with God and a mechanism the Spirit grows us. For me, prayer is my favorite and most vulnerable space where sometimes I experience those hidden, secret truths and I get to bless others with words of God’s Truth.
